McKenzie Press-up: Exercise for Low Back Pain

The McKenzie press-up exercise is a powerful tool to address low back pain. The press-up fits within a system of targeting a person’s directional preference in the context of spine pain. This exercise is great for low back pain (acute or chronic) and is most often helpful for low back pain that is worse with sitting, bending forward at the waist, tying your shoes in the morning, etc.

What’s a good way to relieve back pain from a pinched nerve?

A co-worker’s wife has a pinched nerve in her back, that otc pain relievers aren’t helping and physical therapy isn’t working either. Any ideas? She doesn’t like taking heavy duty meds because of her job.

What are some ways to relieve lower back pain?

Any good stretches or sleeping positions?? I’m not looking for medicines, just things I can do to relieve the pain. I don’t know why, but my lower back is extremely sore and uncomfortable. Any thoughts?

What else can I do to get rid of chronic back pain?

I’m more or less at my wits end. Every doctor I go to tells me that the xrays and MRI are showing nothing wrong with me and that I need to exercise.

I’m 22 years old, I shouldn’t be having chronic back pain that has no apparent cause. And at very least if it were a muscle strain I’d figure that 8 months would have been plenty of time for it to heal. I’m not in that bad of shape, I walk 2 or 3 miles a day.

I have more or less written off medication as a simple mask of the problem. The problem to me isn’t the pain, it’s whatever is causing the pain. In a way I’d rather deal with the pain until the real problem is identified and gotten rid of so it can serve as a reminder. I’m not sure my exercising is helping any and for some reason my doctors seem to think I’m making it up or they just want to perscribe me more pain killers.

Is there anything else I can do on my own to combat back pain?

Can Exercise Make Sciatica or Posterior Pelvic Pain While Pregnant Worse?

I had an adjustment today at the chiropractor which may help with some aching I am having directly in the middle of my buttocks. But I had read this is likely posterior pelvic pain and not sciatica and that I should not do things like stairs.
**So can exercise worsen this condition?
**Can I do the stair master?
**For this condition which would help more, chiropractor or physical therapist?
