I think I have a pinched nerve because I often get really severe pain going down one of my arms. I know I need to see a doctor, but until then is there any way to help the pain? Is there any posture/stretch/etc that I can try?

I suggest going for a massage and having them focus on the muscles in your upper shoulders and neck, those are often the cause of pain shooting down the arm. Massage is not just a luxury, it is very therapuetic!

Depending on where the pinched nerve is laying flat on your back with your knees bent and relaxing completely helps. Taking Ibuprofen will help with any swelling that might be around that nerve and causing pain. You can try applying heat or ice to the area which ever makes it feel better. I have had chronic pain in my back caused by degenerative disc disease and these are a few things that help when I have a flare up. You really need to get in to see your Dr for a correct diagnosis.
