Hi Everyone. I have a herniated disc in my neck (between C5 and C6) and lately the pain and stiffness seems to be getting worse. I’ve been getting these terrible headaches, that almost feel like sinus, but the pain seems to start in my neck and make its way up to my eyes. When I put ice on my neck, the headache goes away, and so I am completely confused as to what may be causing this. Can the herniated disc be causing these headaches? All answers are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

when the cervical spine is not in aliment, it does cause your neck muscles to work hard to keep the posture, this may lead upto headaches….
i would suggest your to try head from hot water bottle no more then 5mints.

Sounds like what caused the herniated disc is causing the pain – tightened cervical muscles. The muscles tighten causing the vertebra to squeeze together which can herniate a disc. The muscles pull on where they attach (back of the head) causing pain, stiffness & headaches. See a Physical Therapist who can treat this problem.
