Is it bad to work out with sciatica?

I have been having sciatica pains for about a month but just got diagnosed about a week ago and have been taking prednisone to help, but i still get pain. I have been trying to stay away from activity because i thought it would make it hurt more, but i feel like im getting out of shape and i was wondering if working out would really make it worse. I am a dancer, so would stretching hurt it more or no? what kinds of things are okay to do with sciatica? and is sciatica totally curable or will i have this pain forever?

How can I get rid of sciatica?

I’ve joined the air force, but didn’t tell my recruiter that I have sciatica problems cause I don’t want it to hold me back. I’ve tried acupuncture, steroids, and physical therapy. It’s just gotten worse. I’m 21 and very active. The problem is, I’ve been running getting ready for boot camp but I know that running doesn’t help. How could I get rid of the pain? I just want it to go away.

Can sciatica pain be in the top of my thighs?

I have sciatica problems. All my doctor is doing for it right now is muscle relaxers and we’re going to start some physical therapy soon.
I have new pain in the top part of my thighs. I’m used to my butt and legs hurting, but not this part of my thighs. Can that be a result from the sciatica?
It’s worse in one leg than the other.

The Best Sciatica Stretch to Get Fast Relief for Sciatic Nerve Pain

www.SukieBaxter.com This is the best sciatica stretch to use if you suffer from sciatic nerve pain, also commonly called sciatica or piriformis syndrome. This simple stretch eases sciatic pain by lengthening your lateral rotator muscles, through which your sciatic nerve runs. When these muscles get tight, as they do from sitting for long periods of time or activities like cycling that cause abnormal tension in the hip and butt area, they impinge the sciatic nerve, causing pain down the back of the leg that doctors refer to as sciatica. Fortunately, no drastic measures need be taken to alleviate your sciatic nerve pain. Simply use this stretch daily to lengthen the muscles impinging on your sciatic nerve and your sciatica will disappear in no time! Also, it’s important to remember to move around a lot during the day, especially if you have the kind of job that keeps you sitting for long periods. Sitting creates tension in the hips and can cause sciatic nerve pain. If you must sit for long periods, take frequent breaks. Even getting up to walk around the office for five minutes every two hours makes an enormous difference and can be just the ticket to avoiding future sciatic nerve pain.

Sciatica Stretches: So painful. You don’t have to put up with Sciatic pain with this stretch…….

www.my-pilates-exercises.com.html There are a number of factors that contribute to Sciatic pain, but if the problem is due to muscle tightness, this video can help. Sciatic Pain is usually felt in the hip to down the side of your leg and sometimes down to the foot… . The huge Sciatic Nerve attaches from your spine in the lower back, through the hip and descends in 2 different directions down your leg. In your hip region, in fact your derriere, is a fat but short muscle called the Piriformis. The Sciatic nerve travels either under or through this muscle. Usually that’s fine, but when it’s tight, Sciatica will develop as the muscle presses down on the nerve. The video demonstrates a simple stretch that will help loosen it up, improve flexibility, and of course your pain level.
